Summary: [Be Advised: Strong Language] Just saying that the mainstream and crack-pot news services covered the Boston event poorly is a gross understatement. It was, some feel, purposely botched and due to the confusing information being pumped into the news cycle, citizens panicked, the authorities overreacted and the conspiracy peddlers got far more attention than they deserve because of it.
